Endocrine Osteopathy Department

The Endocrine Osteopathy Department studies the morphological and functional changes in bone, joint, and muscle structures associated with diseases of the endocrine system. Disorders of the endocrine glands (diabetes mellitus, thyroid pathology, hypogonadism, Cushing's syndrome, etc.) seriously affect bone mass metabolism and mineralization, leading to the development of secondary osteoporosis and serious complications. For this reason, a special department of endocrine osteopathy was created within the endocrinology system.

Main tasks

1. Study and classification of bone diseases against the background of endocrine diseases, introduction of a specialized direction in osteoporosis.

2. Development of diagnostic algorithms (densitometry, FRAX method, biomarkers, hormonal analysis, bioimpedance analysis) and identification of risk groups in the population, as well as the creation of screening programs.

3. Integration of endocrine osteopathy into clinical practice.

4. Development of treatment and rehabilitation standards and updating of treatment protocols based on international recommendations.

5. Creation of scientific research and databases.

6. Organization of a system for training and professional development.

7. Organization of osteoporosis schools in the regions, professional development of local personnel.

IV. Tasks and areas of activity of the department

1. Diagnostic area:

Endocrine disorders are associated with mineral metabolism disorders.

Laboratory tests are used to identify markers of mineral deficiency.

Monitoring of sex hormones, vitamin D, calcium, and parathyroid hormone levels is also important.
